If you fly, you can catch a free shuttle from the Airport to the Hotel.
The forms you'll need to get the weapons across the border will be sent to you or you can also download it form the web at this address: http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca/
STEP 2: Hotel accomodation
Your first night will be spent in Montreal. Safari Nordik always uses a first class accomodations to insure that your first stay is relaxing and enjoyable.
Say goodbye to civilisation! The next morning you'll be heading for your Adventure in the Tundra.
STEP 3 : Flight to Kuujjuaq
Transportation
From Montreal to Kuujjuaq Air transportation is provided by First Air, a Commercial airline service, offering regularly scheduled flights aboard a Boeing 737 on a two (2) hour flight. The only way to get to Kuujjuaq is by air or sea. www.firstair.ca
STEP 4 : Arrived at Kuujjuak
From the air, you will see the rugged terrain of the Tundra, and give you an idea of what lies ahead. Once in Kuujjuaq, you will be met by members of The Safari Nordik team who will direct you to your next flight.
STEP 5 : Flight to the Hunting Camp
Transportation
Your flight to camp will take between 45 to 55 minutes either on a float plane or a Twin Otter; since most our camps have landing strips, the more probable choice will be on Air Inuits Twin Otters.
Safari Nordikonly decides your destination at the latest minute to counter surprise moves from the migration; that is how we have acheived the highest success rate of the industry; any outfitter boasting a 90 % success rate on 2 Bulls should have no problem offering you some type of guarantee.. www.airinuit.ca
STEP 6 : Arrived to camp
Finally.... The Hunting Camp. Nous y voici ! Here we are! Your home for the next few days; Not many outfitters have the level of equipment and organization in its camp. Most Members of our team have been working with us for more than 10 years; what better testimony for a hunter than a team that works together to insure the success of your hunt.
One you've settled in, you will meet the camp manager, the guides and the cook. Once that is done, you will be ready for the hunt.
STEP 7 : The Hunt
Trust your guide and Camp Manager! Take the time to talk to them! Tell them your expectations. Once you have covered the basics, you are ready to head out to the Tundra. If this is your first time, trust the guide; he is there to help you enjoy your trip.
For those who have been to Alaska, relax, you can hunt small game, Black Bear or fish at no extra costs except for the necessary license.
STEP 8 : Your game
The Leaf river Herd is now the largest Caribou herd in the world!
Hunting Caribou is far different than hunting other Big game animals; the fact that it migrates all the time can make this either an easy hunt or a tough one!
But it is a quite a hunt! You will enjoy every minute of it!
STEP 9 : Back to Mtl
When back at the Montreal Airport, recover your luggage and head for the Hotel shuttle. Safari Nordik personnel is already at hand to recover the Caribou meat, Antlers and capes from the Cargo area.
Everything is brought back to the Hotel where a refer unit provides the necessary cooling to protect the harvest of your hunt.
STEP 10 : Heading home
Wheter you're flying or driving, leaving the same night or the day after, Safari Nordik will be there to make sure you get your game and trophies at the time you choose!
If you are flying, Safari Nordik will re-wrap your game to meet the Airlines requirements to insure a non-hassle check-in and return flight.
More than 32 camp sites
With over 32 well located camp sites throughout our Hunting territory, we monitor the migration year after year. Only 14 of our camp sites are in use at any given time. In this way Safari Nordik can offer hunters greater mobility and a wider selection of camps than any other outfitter in the region.
To make sure we send you to a place where there is Caribou, Safari Nordik only assigns you to a camp on the morning you arrive in Kuujjuaq. We’re not selling you a stay in camp – we sell you the ultimate hunting trip.
